Job summary

Delta-T Group Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Shelter Advocates to join a 24/7 shelter team in Lowell, MA. The role supports homeless families and operates across three shifts: 8am–4pm, 4pm–12am, and 12am–8am, ensuring safety and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include social interactions, rounds for safety, meal duties, crisis intervention, and maintaining cleanliness. Prior experience with at-risk populations is preferred, CPR/First Aid is a plus, and occasional stair

Qualifications

• Previous experience with homeless individuals or at-risk populations preferred.
• Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain appropriate social interactions with residents and assist residents as needed.
• Conduct rounds of shelter to maintain safety and security of residents.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving and cleanup during shifts.
• Intervene in crises (medical, mental health, interpersonal).
• Complete assigned tasks of the shift and maintain shelter order and cleanliness.
• Monitor bedrooms, bathrooms, and dayrooms for safety and security.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and required trainings.
