Job summary

Community Teamwork is seeking part-time Residential Counselors for the Shelter Staff program in Lowell, MA. The role involves working with residents in a congregate shelter, providing life skills support and enforcing site rules with a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

Responsibilities include safety enforcement, intake processing, crisis intervention when needed, and documenting all activities per guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• At least one year of experience in human services
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication
• Excellent crisis management skills
• Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collection
• Good attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of guests and the site
• Enforce rules and regulations to ensure smooth operation of the site
• Respond to emergencies, document appropriately, and communicate according to guidelines
• Complete the intake process for new guests
• Provide support and structure, addressing guest concerns
• Initiate crisis intervention when necessary
• Record documentation as required by program guidelines
