Prestige Auto Works in Sacramento is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Service Writer to join our family-owned shop full time. You will greet customers, write clear repair orders, and coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate estimates and timely service.

As a valued member of our team, you will manage parts sourcing, scheduling, invoicing in Tekmetric, and follow up with customers after service. We offer paid vacation, holidays, sick days, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Experience as a service writer or advisor in automotive repair.
• Familiarity with Tekmetric or similar shop software.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple customers.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Greet customers in person and on the phone, and make them feel welcome.
• Listen to customer concerns and write clear, accurate repair orders.
• Build estimates and invoices inTekmetric.
• Explain recommended repairs, pricing, and timelines in plain language.
• Get customer approval before work begins and keep them updated on progress.
• Work closely with technicians to make sure jobs are done right and on time.
• Order parts and check pricing and availability with vendors.
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily workflow.
• Handle payments and close out repair orders.
• Follow up with customers after service and handle any concerns professionally.
• Keep the front counter and customer area clean and organized.

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a service writer or service advisor in automotive repair.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and common repairs.
• Experience with Tekmetric or other shop management software is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Organized and able to handle multiple customers and jobs at once.
• Honest, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable with computers, phones, and email.
• Valid driver's license.
