Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group is seeking a skilled service technician to repair and maintain emergency vehicles in the assigned territory. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform installations, and ensure optimal functionality for customers.

Responsibilities include servicing fire apparatus components, traveling within the territory, and delivering high-quality repair work with a focus on customer satisfaction. A clean driving record and CDL eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL license.
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform installation of equipment.
• Attend to customer needs as required.
• Confirm equipment is functional after service.
• Ensure equipment remains in proper working condition after troubleshooting.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus but not required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
