Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group is hiring a field service technician to repair and maintain emergency vehicles. You will travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and install equipment, ensuring it is operational and safe for use.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, excellent customer service, and a willingness to work independently within a defined territory. A CDL and clean driving record are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel within an assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of emergency vehicle equipment.
• Travel to customer locations to test and repair equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and installation of equipment.
• Assist customers and provide telephone support for troubleshooting.
• Ensure equipment is functioning properly after service.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
