Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group is seeking an experienced technician to service and repair emergency vehicle equipment. You will diagnose and fix issues on-site at customer locations, travel within an assigned territory, and provide troubleshooting and installation support as needed.

Ideal candidates bring EVT/ASE certifications or willingness to obtain them, strong customer-service skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining the highest repair standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attend to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Summary

Perform repair work and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles. Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
