Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Service Operations Support Manager in Training in Frederick, MD to lead a team, manage inventory, and drive operational excellence within the Service Operations Department.

The role focuses on coaching associates, achieving production targets, and contributing to continuous improvement while ensuring excellent service and safety standards. Valid for nights/weekends and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Lead teams to achieve production goals and maintain operational standards.
• Skilled in reading, interpreting, and maintaining accurate data records.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities in a dynamic work setting.
• Effective verbal and written communication for customer and associate interactions.
• Proficiency in common and proprietary software systems.
• Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments with flexible scheduling (nights, weekends, holidays) and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage associates to achieve production targets and maintain accurate inventory levels
• Provide coaching and feedback through formal and informal observations to support associate development
• Participate in hiring and training processes to build a strong, high-performing team
• Monitor and maintain key performance measures to ensure operational success
• Execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, delivering exceptional service
• EH&S program ownership for the department and/or location, including self-inspections and PPE
