Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Operations Manager in Training to lead Service Operations across multiple locations, driving P&L accountability and operational excellence. You will oversee reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service functions, while mentoring managers and a large frontline team.

You will use data to optimize KPIs, control costs, and ensure safety and process compliance. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of management experience are preferred; relocation to multiple sites

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience, retail management preferred.
• Ability to interpret and maintain accurate data records.
• Willingness to relocate or work at multiple locations; SMDP completed by internal candidates.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Manager on the store leadership team across Service Operations (reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service).
• Lead multiple managers and a large frontline workforce, including staffing, performance management, and succession planning.
• Drive operational excellence via KPIs, production capacity, quality, cycle time and cost controls; use data analysis for improvements.
