Job summary

CarMax Westborough is seeking an Operations Manager in Training to lead the Service Operations Department, including reconditioning, cosmetic and production functions. You will collaborate with Sales, Business Office and Purchasing to deliver an exceptional customer and associate experience while driving operational excellence.

The program includes learning the roles and responsibilities of Service Operations and completing CarMax’s Senior Management Development Program.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience, retail management preferred.
• Ability to interpret and maintain accurate data records.
• Completion of CarMax-provided training in Inventory, Cosmetic, and Production processes.
• Willingness to relocate or work at multiple locations.
• Internal candidates must complete SMDP before applying.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Manager on the store leadership team across Service Operations, including reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service.
• Directly and indirectly lead multiple managers and a large frontline workforce, with accountability for staffing and development.
• Own operational execution with KPIs, production capacity, quality, cycle time, and cost controls.
• Maintain full financial accountability, including P&L ownership and labor optimization.
• Champion process improvements and ensure alignment with CarMax standards.
• Oversee EH&S program for the department and/or location.
