Job summary
United Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance operation within the Power/HVAC Division. You will hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates, maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe operation and readiness for rental.
You will collaborate with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location with strong leadership, service, and business management.
Qualifications
- Requires 3-5 years of operations and shop management experience with repair/maintenance background.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment (diesel generators, chillers, air conditioners, desiccants, load banks).
- Motivate, coach, and train technicians to meet time and quality standards.
- Supervise service technicians and ensure safety policies are followed.
- Build strong customer relationships through high-quality service.
- Manage shop operating expenses and lead continuous improvement of service metrics.
- Meet regularly with Branch Managers to discuss issues and solutions.
