Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Service Manager in the Power/HVAC Division. You’ll lead a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates, supervise maintenance and repair of generators, chillers, HVAC equipment, and related assets, and partner with the Branch Manager to drive safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of operations and shop management experience
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems
• Experience with heavy equipment warranty and work order/time tracking
• Valid driver’s license with clean record

Responsibilities

• Supervise preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of equipment
• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time and quality standards
• Supervise service technicians and enforce safety policies
• Build strong customer relationships through high-quality, timely service
• Apply policies to maximize productivity while maintaining a safe, organized facility
• Manage shop operating expenses and drive performance metrics
• Lead planning, measurement and continuous improvement of service results
• Meet with Branch Managers regularly to discuss issues and solutions
• Other duties as needed
