Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. seeks a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance operation within the Power/HVAC Division.

You will hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates, maintain and repair a variety of equipment, and ensure safe, ready-for-rental assets. You will collaborate with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location through leadership and strong maintenance knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of operations and shop management experience.
• Background in repairing and maintaining the listed equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment (generators, chillers, A/C units, desiccants, etc.).
• Motivate, coach, and train technicians to meet time and quality standards.
• Supervise technicians and ensure safety policies are followed at all times.
• Build strong customer relationships through high quality, timely service.
• Manage shop expenses and lead continuous improvement of service metrics.
• Report problems and solutions to Branch Manager on a regular basis.
