Job summary

Smith Ford Inc in Kentucky is seeking a Service Writer / Service Advisor to be the primary contact between customers and our repair team. You will greet customers, document concerns, explain repairs, and help with estimating and scheduling.

You will also provide cost estimates, communicate status updates during repairs, and follow up after service to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive service is helpful, but not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Proficient with repair order software and scheduling systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, listen to vehicle concerns, and create detailed service repair orders.
• Act as liaison between customers and service technicians, explaining diagnostics and recommended repairs.
• Provide accurate cost estimates and updates on vehicle status during repair.
• Schedule service appointments and manage workflow to maintain shop efficiency.
• Review completed repair orders with customers and process payments accurately.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and build repeat business.
