Job summary

You will schedule production, manage daily floor operations, provide spindle repair estimates, and drive Lean improvements while reducing costs and ensuring quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical or business degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in a service-based organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with ERP/CRM databases.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of machine tools or precision equipment repair processes.
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Basic engineering understanding to handle routine projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop production schedules and allocate resources to meet customer orders and deadlines; coordinate with sales and operations to prioritize orders.
• Oversee day-to-day production floor operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Provide spindle repair estimates and updates on order status; address concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service to ensure a seamless customer experience and long-term relationships.
• Implement and maintain quality control; inspect rebuilt spindles to meet standards and specs.
• Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance skills.
• Coach staff to ensure competency and performance.
• Manage inventory levels of spindle components and materials.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely material delivery and minimize stockouts.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance and maximize equipment reliability.
• Identify process improvements and cost reductions; apply Lean and best practices to boost productivity.
