Job summary

Svih Management is seeking a dedicated Server Assistant for their San Vicente location in Santa Monica. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent guest service and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Applicants should be effective communicators, team players, and knowledgeable about wines and cocktails. Experience in a fine-dining restaurant is preferred, along with Serve Safe and Tips certifications. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

Position Purpose

Responsible for greeting guests and providing excellent guest service upon entry to the food and beverage outlet. The Server Assistant normally works a regular food and beverage shift but may be asked to work another shift due to business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner according to hotel standards.
• Answer all questions regarding the menus accurately.
• Utilize selling techniques to upsell.
• Acknowledge guest needs, anticipate and respond promptly to maintain positive guest relations.
• Process guest payment by posting on the POS system and verify if the guest is an in‑house or walk‑in patron.
• Inform the manager of any guest complaints, requests or problems.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Communicate with the incoming or prior shift regarding outstanding tables.
• Report any damages, discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions to the manager.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures that pertain to the job.
• Clean and polish silverware, glassware, sugar receptacle, trays, coffee pots, and teapots.
