Job summary

San Vicente Clubs in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a friendly Server Assistant to greet guests and deliver exemplary service in our food and beverage outlets. The role focuses on guest engagement, accurate menu knowledge, and upselling while maintaining a polished, gracious demeanor.

The position requires teamwork, flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays, and prior POS experience. Certification in Serve Safe and Tips is preferred, with a minimum of one year in fine dining hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hospitality or customer service in a fine dining restaurant preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow directions with focus to detail, speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Delivers food and beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner in accordance with hotel standards.
• Answers all questions regarding the menus accurately.
• Utilizes selling techniques to upsell.
• Acknowledges guest need, anticipates guest needs and responds promptly to maintain positive guest relations.
• Process guest payment by posting on POS system and verifies in-house status.
• Inform manager of any guest complaints, requests or problems.
• Maintain organized and clean work area.
• Communicate with incoming/prior shift on outstanding tables.
• Report damages or equipment malfunction to manager.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures for the job.
• Clean and polish silverware, glassware, sugar receptacles, trays and pots.

Salary Range: $19.61 - $19.61 Hourly Payrate: $19.61 per hour plus tips

Position Purpose

Responsible for greeting guests, providing excellent guest service upon guest entering food and beverage outlet. The Server Assistant normally works a regular food and beverage shift but may be asked and assigned another shift due to work needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process guest payment by posting on POS system, verifies if guest is in house or walk in patron.
• Informs manager of any guest complaints, requests or problems.
• Maintains organized and clean work area.
• Communicate with incoming/ prior shift as to outstanding tables.
• Reports any damages, discrepancies and or malfunction of equipment to manager.
• Follows all safety and sanitation procedures that pertain to the job.
• Clean and polish silverware, glassware, sugar receptacle, trays, coffee pots, tea pots.
