Job summary

The San Vicente Clubs in West Hollywood is seeking a professional Server to warmly greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and deliver menu items in line with luxury standards.

You will work a regular hospitality shift, support up-selling, handle payments, and maintain a polished dining area; prior fine-dining experience and Serve Safe / TIPS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions with attention to detail.
• Team player with capacity to work under minimal supervision.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of wines and cocktails is preferred.
• Able to set up tables, buffets and food stations.
• Experience with POS systems and financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide excellent guest service at entry to the food & beverage outlet.
• Take and enter food and beverage orders accurately in the POS system.
• Deliver orders in a friendly, professional manner per hotel standards.
• Upsell where appropriate and handle guest payments.

Position Summary

Responsible for greeting guests, providing excellent guest service upon entry to the food and beverage outlet. The Server normally works a regular food and beverage shift but may be asked and assigned another shift due to work needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes food and beverage order accurately.
• Enters food and beverage order in the POS system.
• Delivers food and beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner in accordance with hotel standards.
• Answers all questions regarding the menus accurately.
• Utilizes selling techniques to up‑sell.
• Handles financial transactions accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly and accurately closes guest checks.
• Acknowledges guest need, anticipates guest needs and always responds promptly to maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Processes guest payment by posting on POS system, verifies if guest is in house or walk‑in patron.
• Informs manager of any guest complaints, requests or problems.
• Maintains organized and clean work area.
• Communicates with incoming or prior shift as to outstanding tables.
• Reports any damages, discrepancies and/or malfunction of equipment to manager.
• Follows all safety and sanitation procedures that pertain to the job.
• Clean and polish silverware, glassware, sugar receptacle, trays, coffee pots, tea pots.

• Must have previous experience with POS system.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work well under time constraints and remain calm.
• Must be Serve Safe certified, must be Tips Certified.
• Minimum 1 year of hospitality or customer service in a fine dining restaurant preferred.
