Job summary

Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is seeking a friendly and energetic Food & Beverage team member to join our dynamic operation. You will greet guests, assist with seating, and guide them through menu and wine selections with enthusiasm.

The role requires excellent English communication, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work full-time with flexible AM/PM shifts. You will collaborate with kitchen and service staff, maintain service standards, and ensure guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Proven working experience in relevant field.
• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist host/hostess with seating as needed.
• Present menu, answer questions, and suggest food and wine options.
• Memorize menu items and daily specials; be familiar with ingredients.
• Use proper etiquette and serve guests in a courteous manner.
• Relay orders to kitchen and service bar using the POS system.
• Observe guests and fulfill additional requests; manage guest checkout.
• Total bills and handle payments or direct to cashier.
• Maintain cleanliness of service areas and prep areas; reset counters after courses.
• Follow cash handling procedures and health/safety regulations.

Description

We are looking for an ambitious and fun individual to join our hard working food and beverage team at the Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. Our goal is to enhance the customer experience by having an enthusiastic staff to ensure event guests are well taken care of!

Schedule: Full-time with flexible availability for both AM and PM shifts. Schedule may vary based on business needs and volume.
Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist host or hostess in seating guests as needed.

• Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
• Memorize menu selections and wines including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
• Use proper verbiage and etiquette including serving ladies first
• Write order on check or memorize order.
• Relay order to kitchen and service bar utilizing point of sale system
• Observe guests to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed for guest checkout.
• Total bill and accept payment or refer guest to cashier.
• Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
• Clear and reset counters or table at conclusion of each course.
• Assist in cleaning and wiping down of service areas and prep areas
• Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Maintain safe serve regulations when serving alcoholic beverages
• Handle reasonable guests complaints/requests and inform others when required
• Comply with health and safety regulation and act in line with company policies and licensing laws
