Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking an experienced payroll professional to lead end-to-end payroll processing in Workday. The role handles exempt and non-exempt biweekly payroll across multiple states, ensures accurate tax withholdings, and resolves payroll issues with minimal supervision.

The position requires 5+ years of payroll experience, including Workday payroll, and a solid understanding of SOX controls. Strong Excel skills and customer service orientation are essential for timely employee support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years payroll experience INCLUDING
• Three (3) years of Workday payroll experience OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to clear required background check
• Familiarity with payroll processes, policies, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end preparation and processing of exempt/non-exempt payroll using Workday and OSV.
• Reconcile payroll from period to period.
• Calculate and review prorated wages and deductions for new hires, terminations, status changes.
• Ensure tax and payroll deduction withholdings are accurate, including reciprocity rules.
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with SOX.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and tax adjustments with minimal direction.
• Address employee inquiries via ticketing system within SLA (24–48 hours).
• Stay current on payroll legislation to ensure compliance.
• Manage tax notices with OSV and handle state/local registrations.
