Job summary

Samsara is seeking a skilled Workday specialist to lead Absence configuration and support global HR initiatives from a remote US-based location. You will partner with HR, Payroll, and IT to implement efficient Workday processes, build custom reports, and ensure accurate and compliant leave management across multiple regions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in fast‑growing environments, 2+ years in Workday Absence configuration, and a strong background in HCM modules, with experience in Jira

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience at fast‑growing, global companies.
• 2+ years of experience in Workday Absence configuration.
• Experience in Workday business process configuration, security, and organization configuration.
• Experience in Workday HCM, Benefits, and Core HCM in US and international locations.
• Experience writing and completing test scenarios for system implementations and enhancements.
• Experience supporting project planning, requirements gathering, testing, and launch.
• Strong understanding of leave and absence management processes including accrual calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Absence Management Workday configuration, including eligibility rules, accrual policies, and leave case management.
• Cross-functional collaboration with HR, Payroll, and other teams to incorporate requirements into Workday.
• Review proposed system changes to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Build and modify custom reports for standard optimization.
• Triage and configure Workday enhancements or fixes for HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Timecards, Absence/Leaves, Payroll, and reporting.
• Build and maintain organizational hierarchies, custom objects, and custom security roles.
• Partner with People Operations teams to document business requirements for Workday and other technologies.
• Scope and prioritize incoming technology fixes and enhancements.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles.
