Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Workday Absence configuration expert to join the People Technology & Operations team. You’ll own Absence Management, partner with HR and Payroll, and drive efficient Workday solutions across HCM, Benefits, Timekeeping, and reporting.

This remote US role requires 5+ years in fast-growing global firms and 2+ years in Workday Absence configuration; you’ll champion process improvements, build reports, and help scale a growing global workforce while embodying Samsara’s customer

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience at fast-growing global companies.
• 2+ years in Workday Absence configuration.
• Experience in Workday HCM, Benefits, and Core HCM modules.
• Experience writing and completing test scenarios for system implementations.
• Experience supporting project planning, requirements gathering, testing, and launch.
• Strong understanding of leave and absence management processes, including accrual calculations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Absence Management Workday configuration.
• Cross-functional collaboration with HR, Payroll, and internal teams to incorporate requirements into Workday.
• Review proposed system changes to identify opportunities for process improvement and reuse.
• Build and modify custom reports for standard optimization.
• Triage and configure Workday enhancements or fixes for HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Timecards, Absence/Leaves, Payroll, and reporting.
• Build and maintain organizational hierarchies, custom objects, and custom security roles.
• Partner with People Operations teams to solidify and document business requirements.
• Scope and prioritize incoming technology fixes and enhancements.
• Champion Samsara's cultural principles.
