Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Windows desktop engineer to design, build, and maintain native Windows apps across WinUI/C# and optional native components. You will drive architecture decisions, ensure accessibility, and collaborate with designers, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software.

You will own features end-to-end, optimize performance, and contribute to long-term product vision for Speechify’s Windows platform in a distributed, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK/WinUI/C#.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-grade desktop apps with reliability.
• Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs (UI Automation or equivalent).
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management.
• Experience leading design, mentoring engineers, and conducting code reviews.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• User-centric mindset focused on polished, accessible UX.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps with WinUI/C# and native code as needed.
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI controls, focus, keyboard navigation, and screen reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmap.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues.
