Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Windows desktop architect/engineer to lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows applications across Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and C++. You will drive accessibility, collaborate with product teams, and own features end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK and WinUI.
• Strong understanding of interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (e.g., Microsoft UI Automation).
• Excellent fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills and a user-centric mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-readers.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape UI/UX and roadmap.
• Own features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility issues.
