Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the technical vision across our engineering organization, reporting to the VP of Engineering. You will guide design and execution for high-volume, secure health-tech systems and mentor staff.

Lead architecture for core B2B and consumer platforms with AWS, PostgreSQL, Rails, Python, and TS/JS. Drive standards, compliance (HIPAA, SOC2), performance, and reliability while partnering across Product, Pharmacy Ops, and Eng Managers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive software engineering and systems design experience.
Experience with high-throughput, distributed B2B SaaS or transactional systems.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve target architecture for core platforms and handle high-volume API integrations.
Mentor Staff, Senior, and Mid-level engineers; promote design reviews and knowledge sharing.
Establish engineering standards including coding guidelines, testing, CI/CD, and security-by-design.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations to align architecture with business goals.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and SOC2; design secure, private data handling and messaging.
Drive performance improvements and database efficiency within AWS and PostgreSQL environments.
Evaluate new tools and AWS services with POCs to improve the ecosystem.
