Job summary

Stantec in North Carolina is seeking a Water/Wastewater Sr. Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on large, public water projects.

You will guide design, scope, schedule, and client relationships, delivering innovative solutions with a focus on compliance and sustainability. The role blends leadership, business development, and technical excellence across Winston-Salem and Charlotte offices, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years’ related experience in project management for water-related projects with minimum of 10 years’ experience in NC.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NC.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including defining and setting the direction for a team, project, and office; strategy development; change management; and corporate stewardship.
• Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of design professionals and technicians.
• Mentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teams.
• Perform business development/application tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships.
• Assist in developing proposals and scope of work documents; estimates.
• Collaborate with multiple business lines to develop opportunities.
• Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies.
• Present to clients, regulatory agencies and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects; facilitate independent technical reviews.
• Involvement in permitting processes with clients and regulatory personnel.
• Establish projects to achieve budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.
• Travel as needed between offices and project sites.
