Job summary

Consor seeks a Water & Wastewater Project Engineer to plan, design, and deliver municipal water and wastewater infrastructure for public-sector clients in Portland, OR. You will lead project tasks, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 6–12 years of experience, and a strong foundation in water systems design, permitting, and project delivery. AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design, permitting, and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and public‑sector agencies.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, and technical documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment systems.
• Apply applicable engineering standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Participate in and contribute to QA/QC reviews to ensure design quality, consistency, and technical integrity across project deliverables.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a Task Lead or Assistant Project Manager on multidisciplinary project teams, with opportunities to manage projects and contracts valued at $500,000+.
• Support project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and implementation of quality control processes throughout project development.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and project coordination.
• Assist with business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and pursuit of new project opportunities.
• Contribute to securing and delivering approximately $100,000 to $500,000+ in new work annually.
