Job summary

Consor is seeking a Water & Wastewater Project Engineer in Portland, Oregon to lead planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects for public-sector clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff while advancing treatment, conveyance, storage, and distribution systems.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 6–12 years of experience, and a civil/environmental/related engineering degree.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design, permitting, and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and public-sector agencies.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, and technical documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Apply applicable engineering standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure design quality and technical integrity.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a Task Lead or Assistant Project Manager on multidisciplinary project teams, with opportunities to manage projects and contracts valued at $500,000+.
• Support project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and quality control processes.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and coordination.
• Assist with business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and pursuing new opportunities.
• Contribute to securing and delivering approximately $100,000 to $500,000+ in new work annually.
