Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer in Parsippany/Sparta, NJ with hybrid work options. You will design water and wastewater facilities, ensure compliance with EPA/NJDEP and lead technical work on feasibility studies and regulatory coordination.

We value a strong technical background, 5–10 years of hands-on design, a PE or near-term licensure, and the ability to mentor junior staff. Compensation is $120k–$150k base with a year-end bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 5–10 years of hands-on water and wastewater design experience.
• PE license or progress toward licensure within 6–12 months.
• Strong knowledge of NJDEP regulations, EPA, SDWA, and related standards.
• AutoCAD proficiency and ability to produce reports and specs.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer water/wastewater facilities, pumping stations, and distribution systems.
• Conduct feasibility and planning studies under EPA/NJDEP guidelines.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specs, and contract documents per NJDEP criteria.
• Lead regulatory coordination: NJPDES permits, TWAs, and related permits.
• Perform site investigations and coordinate cross-disciplinary work.
• Mentor junior staff on technical work and regulatory knowledge.
