Job summary

Our client is seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Parsippany or Sparta, New Jersey. You will design water and wastewater systems, lead feasibility studies, and manage regulatory coordination with NJDEP and EPA standards.

The position emphasizes technical design work, with mentoring of junior staff and interaction with project managers. A PE license or near-term credential is expected; base compensation ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 with a discretionary year-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 5-10 years of hands-on water and wastewater design experience.
• PE license or plan to obtain within 6–12 months.
• Strong working knowledge of NJDEP regulations and permitting (EPA, CWA, SDWA).
• AutoCAD and the ability to produce standalone reports and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer water and wastewater facilities, pumping stations, storage, and distribution systems per standards.
• Conduct feasibility and planning studies under EPA and NJDEP guidelines.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate permitting: NJPDES, Treatment Works Approvals, and related agencies.
• Perform site investigations and provide cross-disciplinary collaboration with other groups.
