Job summary

MDS Staffing supports a northern New Jersey consulting firm in Parsippany/Sparta for a Water Resources Design Engineer (Water or Wastewater). Hybrid role; base pay $120,000–$150,000 with discretionary year-end bonus.

The engineer will design facilities, perform feasibility studies, coordinate regulatory actions, and mentor junior staff while upholding AWWA/ASCE/NSF/ANSI and CWA/SDWA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 5-10 years of hands-on water and wastewater design experience.
• PE license or near-term attainment within 6-12 months.
• Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and EPA/SDWA standards.
• Strong technical writing and design documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer water and wastewater facilities per standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and environmental evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, and cost estimates.
• Lead regulatory coordination for NJPDES permits and approvals.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate across disciplines.
