Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a senior Water Resources Engineer to design, manage, and market water resources projects for diverse clients. The role requires strong drainage and stormwater design, modeling, and permitting skills, with leadership to oversee multiple projects.

You will mentor junior staff, ensure QA/QC during design, and interact with clients and stakeholders to align scope, schedule, and budget while pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited program.
• NC PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 8+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and clear communication.
• Experience with stormwater design and client collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects per scope, schedule and budget.
• Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants on scope/fee.
• Mentors junior staff and delivers stormwater design deliverables.
• Provides QA/QC reviews during design processes.
• Coaches project teams and shares lessons learned.
• Communicates status and issues to stakeholders.
• Builds client relationships to meet requirements.
• Monitors progress, mitigates risks, handles extra work orders.
• Supports marketing: Go/No Go, proposals, interviews.
