Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Water Resources professional to design, manage, and market water resources engineering projects. The candidate will lead stormwater drainage design, modeling, and permitting while overseeing multiple water resource projects and mentoring junior staff.

The role emphasizes client relationship building, quality deliverables, and collaboration across disciplines within a consulting environment, with field exposure as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• NC PE License (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• 8+ years of experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project(s) in scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with disciplines and subconsultants on project scope and fee.
• Develop stormwater drainage design deliverables for clients.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables during design.
• Coach and mentor project team through meetings and debriefs.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Build client relationships to meet requirements and ensure quality projects.
• Monitor progress and mitigate risks; develop extra work orders and proposals.
• Assist with marketing, proposals, and interviews.
