Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks an experienced Water Resources Project Manager in Texas to lead, coordinate, and deliver complex drainage and stormwater projects. You will mentor junior staff, manage budgets, and develop client relationships while guiding design from planning through construction support.

You will work with a team of engineers on H&H analysis, Open Roads Designer modeling, and TxDOT projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and growth for the Water Resources practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Texas Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 7+ years of drainage engineering experience.
• 2+ years of design oversight and training junior staff.
• Experience with TxDOT drainage design or other DOTs.
• Familiar with TxDOT Design Standards and Drainage Manual.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of water resources projects from planning through design and construction support.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.
• Mentor junior staff and build client relationships to support business development.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices; contribute to marketing and proposals.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, risk management, and quality control for projects.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and participate in client meetings.
