Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead water resources design for infrastructure projects in the Pittsburgh region.

You will supervise drainage design for transportation clients and contribute to green stormwater initiatives, mentoring junior staff. The role emphasizes technical leadership, coordination with clients and outside consultants, and rigorous reviews of hydrologic models and permit applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program
• PE license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 6 months
• 10-12+ years of related experience
• Experience supporting PA DOT or regional public agencies
• Experience designing green stormwater infrastructure in urban environments
• Two-dimensional modeling experience using HEC-RAS or SWMM

Responsibilities

• Lead water resources design for multiple concurrent projects and tasks
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
• Serve as technical advisor for drainage, stormwater management, green infrastructure, and permitting
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC-RAS, SWMM, TR-55/TR-20, and related tools
• Prepare post-construction stormwater management plans, permit applications, technical reports, and cost estimates
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and lead cross-disciplinary reviews
