Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects across Texas. You will manage planning, design, and construction support, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality drainage and stormwater solutions.

You will mentor junior staff, develop project scopes and budgets, and help grow JMT’s Texas water resources practice through proactive client engagement and proposal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 7+ years of drainage engineering experience.
• 2+ years of design oversight and mentoring junior staff.
• Experience in TXDOT drainage design and familiarity with TXDOT standards.
• Experience with Open Roads Designer, HEC-RAS/HMS; ArcGIS experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of water resources projects from planning through construction support.
• Coordinate with disciplines and subconsultants to define scope and fees.
• Develop project management plans and schedules; monitor progress and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff and lead project team meetings.
• Support business development, proposals, interviews, and client relationships.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices; present project status to stakeholders.
• Guide technical resources to ensure high-quality outcomes.
