Apex Companies is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead diverse projects in stormwater and groundwater, including hydrologic modeling and design of flood mitigation efforts.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and coordination with agencies to secure approvals. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered, with opportunities for growth across a national environmental and engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
• PE License Desired or close to obtaining.
• Licensed Professional Engineer for State of Florida Desired.
• Strong written and verbal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a variety of water resources engineering projects at the proposal, planning and execution stages.
• Lead and be responsible for construction design drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Understand stormwater analysis and design, including stormwater management plans and modeling analyses.
• Technical review and sealing of engineering design drawings where applicable.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater modeling (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS).
• Oversee pre-, during-, and post-construction implementation and coordinate field work.
• Provide peer review of reports and designs by internal staff.
• Liaise with clients and agencies to determine project requirements and approvals.
• Project management including scheduling and financial management.
• Supervising CAD designers and permit technicians to move permit applications forward.
