Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Water Resources Engineer (Engineer 3 – Sr Project Engineer) in Florida to lead diverse water resources projects, from planning to construction. You’ll design water control structures, perform stormwater analyses, and coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field from four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
• PE License Desired or close to obtaining.
• Licensed Professional Engineer for State of Florida Desired.
• Strong written and verbal skills required.
• Construction experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to present information to governmental boards and public groups.

Responsibilities

• Participate in water resources engineering projects at proposal, planning and execution stages.
• Lead construction design drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Understand stormwater analysis and design including modeling and regulatory permitting.
• Review and seal engineering drawings where applicable.
• Hands-on stormwater modeling with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormWise/ICPR4.
• Oversee field work and coordinate with clients and agencies.
• Manage project scheduling and financials; supervise CAD designers and permit technicians.
