Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC in Tampa, Florida, is seeking an Engineer 3 - Sr Project Engineer to lead water resources projects from proposal through construction, delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. You will perform stormwater and groundwater analyses, develop designs for flood mitigation, manage schedules and budgets, supervise CAD staff, and coordinate with clients, agencies and other disciplines.

Bachelor's in civil or environmental engineering required; 5+ years of relevant experience;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
• PE License desired or close to obtaining.
• Licensed Professional Engineer for State of Florida desired.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Experience in construction preferred but not required.
• Ability to present information to governmental boards and public groups.
• Experience with stormwater routing modeling and CAD tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory agencies (FDEP, SFWMD, USACE, FDOT) is desired.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in a variety of water resources projects from proposal to execution.
• Develop construction drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Conduct stormwater analyses, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and environmental permitting.
• Provide technical review and seal engineering designs where applicable.
• Oversee pre-, during-, and post-construction activities and field coordination.
• Mentor CAD designers and coordinate with other departments.
• Manage project scheduling and financial aspects.
