Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead diverse projects from proposal to construction. You will work on stormwater management, flood mitigation, and water quality improvement, coordinating with clients and agencies to meet project requirements and approvals.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in civil or environmental engineering, 5+ years of stormwater or groundwater experience, and a Florida PE license is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
• PE license desired or close to obtaining.
• Licensed Professional Engineer for Florida desired.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Construction experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to present information to governmental boards, public groups and/or boards of directors.
• Experience with Stormwater routing modeling, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a variety of water resources engineering projects at proposal, planning and execution stages.
• Lead and be responsible for construction design drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Understand stormwater analysis and design; prepare stormwater management plans and modeling analyses.
• Review and seal engineering drawings where applicable.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater modeling (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormWise/ICPR4).
• Oversee pre-, during-, and post-construction implementation and field coordination.
• Provide peer review of reports and designs by internal staff.
• Liaise with clients, agencies, and others to determine project requirements and approvals.
• Project management including scheduling and financial management.
• Supervise CAD designers and coordination with departments and agencies.
• Oversee permit applications and administration to move permit processes forward.
