Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Project Manager to lead mission-critical water resources projects from proposal to execution. You will oversee design efforts, stormwater analyses, and regulatory coordination while coordinating with CAD staff and field teams.

The role emphasizes client communication, schedule and budget management, and the use of HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD Civil3D. A PE license is preferred and a strong driving record is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering required.
• 5+ years in stormwater or groundwater projects.
• PE license preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with regulatory agencies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in water resources projects from proposal through execution.
• Lead construction designs for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Develop stormwater analyses, hydrology, and floodplain mapping and modeling.
• Review and seal engineering design drawings when applicable.
• Hands-on with stormwater modeling (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormWise/ICPR4).
• Oversee pre-, during-, and post-construction activities and field coordination.
• Provide peer review of reports and designs.
• Liaise with clients and agencies to determine project requirements and approvals.
• Manage project scheduling and financials to meet client needs.
• Supervise CAD designers and coordinate with other departments.
• Supervise permit technicians and assist with permit applications.
