Job summary
Apex Companies is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Fort Myers, FL to lead and participate in a variety of water resources projects from proposal through construction. You will develop design drawings for water control structures, flood mitigation and water quality improvements, and coordinate with clients and agencies.
The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree with 5+ years in stormwater or groundwater, and a PE license is desired.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from a four-year college or university.
- 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
- PE license desired or close to obtaining.
- Licensed Professional Engineer for State of Florida desired.
- Strong written and verbal skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a variety of water resources engineering projects at proposal, planning and execution stages.
- Lead and be responsible for conceptual, preliminary, and final construction design drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
- Understand stormwater analysis and design, including stormwater management plans and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling.
- Review and seal engineering design drawings where applicable.
- Oversee field work and coordination across teams and agencies.
- Provide peer review of reports and designs by internal staff.
- Liaise with clients, agencies, and others to determine project requirements and approvals.
- Project management including scheduling and financial oversight.
