Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead diverse projects from planning through construction. You will design water control structures, perform stormwater analysis, and coordinate with clients and agencies to secure approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field from four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater and/or groundwater.
• PE License desired or close to obtaining.
• Licensed Professional Engineer for State of Florida desired.
• Strong written and verbal skills required.
• Construction experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to present to governmental boards, public groups and/or boards of directors.
• Experience with stormwater routing modeling, ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil3D) is preferred.
• Working knowledge of regulations by state and federal agencies (FDEP, SFWMD, USACE, FDOT) is desired.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Participate in water resources engineering projects from proposal to execution stages.
• Lead construction design drawings for water control structures and flood mitigation projects.
• Develop stormwater management plans including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Review and seal engineering design drawings where applicable.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater modeling tools (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormWise).
• Oversee pre- to post-construction implementation and field coordination.
• Provide peer review of reports and designs.
• Liaise with clients, agencies, and other stakeholders for approvals.
• Manage project schedules and financial aspects.
• Supervise CAD designers and coordinate with other departments and agencies.
• Assist permit technicians in completing permit applications.
