Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist in the United States. The role involves providing technical support for Low Voltage Variable Frequency Drives, assisting customers, field technicians, and internal teams with commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.

The position is hybrid (New Berlin, WI) with remote options in the US. The candidate will program drives, configure parameters, and integrate with control systems, collaborating with engineering, service, sales, and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years in Electrical/Technical work OR associate's degree with 6 years OR high school with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is required.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles for troubleshooting drives.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for LV VFD applications, assisting customers and field techs with commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Aid customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Work with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization.
• Maintain documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
