Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to customers, field techs, and internal teams. You will help with commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations for Low Voltage drives, and assist with drive programming and system integration.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, clear communication in English, and the ability to work in a hybrid model, based in New Berlin, WI, or remotely across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Electrical/Technical experience, or an associate's degree with 6+ years, or a high school diploma with 8+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and troubleshooting drives.
• Ability to respond to inquiries in English, both written and spoken; computer-literate.
• Authorized to work in the US for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for VFD-related issues, including commissioning and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and control system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Coordinate with the warranty team to initiate replacements and labor authorization.
• Maintain detailed support case documentation using Salesforce Case Management and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
