Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Underground Transmission team, based in Chicago or Philadelphia. You will lead project managers, engineers, designers, and field staff in the design, modification, and constructability of 69kV–345kV systems, overseeing risks and schedules.

Responsibilities include preparing proposals, contracts, and cost estimates, supervising execution, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
• 10+ years of relevant project management experience.
• 5+ years of underground transmission design experience (duct bank, manhole/vault, splice design, cable ampacity/thermal analysis).
• PMP certification or PE license preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in SharePoint.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering design teams through all phases from proposal to construction.
• Proven ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines and manage multi-project programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and direct teams of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel in design, modification, analysis, and constructability of underground transmission systems.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while monitoring financial metrics.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and clients on contract changes.
• Mentor Project Coordinators and Project Managers in best practices and methodologies.
• Travel as required for project needs and client engagement.
• Coordinate with agencies and jurisdictions for project approvals.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Deltek, and SharePoint for project management.
