Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC, a 700-strong engineering design firm, seeks a Senior Project Manager for underground transmission projects in Chicago, Oak Brook, Philadelphia, or Norristown. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, manage risk, and oversee proposals, contracts, and budgets on 69kV–345kV systems.

The role requires 10+ years PM experience with 5+ years in underground transmission design, PMP/PE preferred. Travel to project sites and client engagement are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
• 10+ years of relevant project management experience
• 5+ years of experience specifically in underground transmission design (duct bank, manhole/vault systems, splice design, cable ampacity/thermal analysis)
• PMP certification, or PE license, preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering design teams through all phases of underground transmission projects
• Proficient in SharePoint
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and direct teams of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel in underground transmission design
• Identify project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies
• Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget with financial oversight
• Negotiate revisions and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clients
• Monitor productivity, quality, and progress across multiple projects
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure program safety compliance
• Coordinate with area agencies and governing jurisdictions for approvals
• Mentor and train Project Coordinators and Project Managers
• Travel as required for project needs and client engagement
