Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Transmission Engineer to lead the design of underground transmission projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction across a diverse project portfolio. The role interfaces with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management, with responsibilities for team development, client stewardship, and ongoing engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of 5 years in underground transmission, underground distribution, cable systems, or related.
• Experience with transmission systems rated 69kV or higher.
• Experience leading an engineering team with resource management and oversight.
• Experience providing technical direction within a department or organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in prepare engineering designs, cost estimates, and billing docs for transmission projects.
• Manage multiple projects from 34.5kV to 500kV ensuring quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
• Develop project schedules and staffing plans for projects and daily work.
• Mentor staff in engineering principles, codes, and transmission design practices.
• Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with clients and pursue opportunities to expand the firm’s footprint.
