Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Dallas, TX, seeks a Senior Underground Transmission Engineer to lead multi‑disciplinary teams in the design of underground transmission systems from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will interface with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management, mentor staff, and advance engineering practices while expanding client relationships and the firm's footprint. The role requires an ABET-accredited degree and at least 5 years of underground transmission

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of underground transmission or related experience.
• Experience leading an engineering team and managing multiple projects.
• Experience with high-voltage transmission systems (34.5kV–500kV).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to guide staff and oversee technical work.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical staff in utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer documentation.
• Manage multiple projects 34.5kV–500kV ensuring quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
• Develop project schedules and staffing plans for projects.
• Mentor staff in engineering principles, codes, and design practices.
• Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with clients and pursue new business opportunities.
