Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Transmission Engineer to lead the design of underground transmission projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams and serve as a key interface with planning, environmental, and construction management. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground transmission, underground distribution, cable systems, power delivery, or underground utility design.
• Experience leading an engineering team and coordinating with cross-functional staff.
• Experience with transmission systems rated 69kV or higher and with CYMCAP and cable software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing documentation.
• Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects from 34.5kV to 500kV, ensuring quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
• Develop project schedules and define technical staffing needs for projects and daily work tasks.
• Mentor staff through instruction in engineering principles and applicable codes.
• Collaborate with other departments and maintain client relationships while pursuing new opportunities.
