Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Transmission Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams in the design of underground transmission projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.

You will drive technical quality, schedules, and client satisfaction across a diverse project portfolio. You will interface with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams, mentoring engineers while expanding the firm’s footprint with new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground transmission or related cable systems.
• Ability to lead engineering teams with supervision and guidance.
• Experience providing technical direction for a department or organization in transmission design.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical staff in utility engineering design, cost estimates, and customer billing documentation across a portfolio of transmission projects.
• Manage multiple projects from 34.5kV to 500kV ensuring quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
• Develop project schedules and staffing plans for projects and daily work assignments.
• Mentor and develop staff in engineering principles and codes.
• Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with clients and pursue new business opportunities.
